How to plant a bulb lasagne in a container – video

Every fall, I plant lots of spring bulbs. Even if I forget to plant garlic (and I still have not planted any this year!), I will plant some crocuses, tulips and daffodils, together with some more obscure spring bulbs like scilla of chionodoxa. Because I know, come spring, I will need them to re-awaken my enthusiasm for gardening and lure me outside.

This year, I really went overboard and ordered hundreds of bulbs for our new garden. I planted most of these over the weekend, some around my fruit trees and lots of vibrantly colored tulips in my little cottage garden. But I also planted a ‘bulb lasagne’ in a large tub close to our back door, where I can enjoy it every day once it starts flowering in the spring. I repeated a favourite combination of mine of tulips, daffodils and crocuses, which will flower continuously from March to May.
